Yellow Box Engineering ltd has the capacity to restore water pumps for the Citroen traction Avant to standards well above their original performance. In the case of the ID/DS19 this includes a new impellor – the original Perfo impellor is usually found to be in good condition and can be reused with minor machining work.
We can restore ID/DS19/11D and Perfo pumps.
The restoration work includes:
The Perfo and ID/DS19 pump bodies are machined, concentric with the front bearing and oilite bush, on the faces where they mate with the intermediate block to the cylinder head, the water seal and the impellor vanes.
The impellors of the ID/DS19 are replaced as they are generally in poor condition.
A new shaft, that has been hardened and ground, is fitted.
A sealed bearing is fitted immediately behind the pulley.
The Perfo water pumps have a grease nipple which is blocked off with a stainless-steel socket head cap screw.
A new oilite bush and water seal are fitted.
The pump is assembled and ready to fit.
Note: The reservoir for the oilite bush must be kept topped up with engine oil at all times.
This is an exchange service and additional charges (approx £90) may be made if any of the parts of the supplied water pump are not suitable for re-use. The water pumps are to be provided complete and in a clean condition.
